Cooler week in the Kamloops forecast, but warming up for the weekend

Today and next weekend look like the best days for soaking up some sun this week as Kamloops looks at some cooler than seasonal temperatures for most of the work week.

A warm sunny day today is expected to be replaced by a few days of cooler temperatures before warming up again in time for next weekend in Kamloops.

Today should be mainly sunny with a high of 30 Celsius, followed by a few clouds and a low of 11 C tonight.

Winds will be west at 20 km/h near noon.

Tuesday, the forecast calls for a mix of sun and cloud. It will be cooler, at 26 C, along with a 40 per cent chance of afternoon showers.

Winds are expected to be west at 20 km/h gusting to 50 in the morning.

Tuesday’s overnight low is expected to be 13 C, under cloudy periods and a 40 per cent risk of showers.

Wednesday should be mainly sunny with a high of 26 C and a low of 12 C.

Thursday's forecast is a carbon copy, with a sun and cloud mx, a high of 26 C and a low of 12 C.

Temperatures should begin to creep upward on Friday under a mix of sun and cloud, with a high of 27 C and a low of 13 C.

Saturday should see a high to 31 C, again under a mix of sun and cloud.

Saturday’s low is expected to dip to 14 C, with a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 32 C anticipated on Sunday.

Elsewhere in the country, Ontario is facing another few days of scorching temperatures.

The Weather Network says Ontario is looking at a sweltering start to the week, with temperatures in the 30s C and high humidities making it feel closer to 40 C.

There’s a risk of storms across eastern Ontario today and tomorrow before the humidity levels drop off around mid-week.

The normal high and low for Kamloops for the second week of August is 29 C and 14 C.
