Cooler, possibly damp weekend ahead for Kamloops, Okanagan

FILE PHOTO

The unsettled weather that has brought some rain and thunderstorms to Kamloops and the Okanagan this week is expected to continue into the weekend.

The bad news for beach lovers is that weekend high temperatures are forecast by Environment Canada to drop below the 30 Celsius mark for the first time in about 10 days.

As has been the pattern all week, there is a risk of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and evening, Aug. 25, and again tomorrow afternoon and evening.

Temperatures are forecast to hit 33 C today in Kamloops before dropping down to highs of around 27 C on the weekend. There’s a 60% chance of rain on Friday and 40% on Saturday.

For the Okanagan, the high today is forecast to be 31 C but only 24 C on the weekend with a 40 to 60% chance of rain.

Sunday should see some clearing with sunshine and temperatures rising into the low 30s again by mid-week.
