Cooler damp week ahead in Kamloops and the Okanagan

While temperatures are forecast to be about normal for this time of year, they will be cooler than experienced in Kamloops and the Okanagan earlier this month.

And there are showers likely early in the week.

Kamloops can expect highs in the 22 Celsius to 24 C through most of the week with a 30% chance of showers today, Sept. 12, 60% on Tuesday and 30% on Wednesday.

Normal high temperatures for this time of year are 22 C.

Today is expected to be smoky throughout the South Thompson and Okanagan due to wildfire smoke in B.C. and the U.S. That forecast is based on an air quality statement issued yesterday but it’s scheduled to be updated today.

There is also a risk of thunderstorms today and Tuesday.

The Environment Canada online forecast is much the same for the Okanagan, only a couple of degrees cooler.
