While there’s a 40% chance of showers and winds gusting to 40 km/h in Kamloops and the Okanagan today, the weekend should be drier but with only a bit of sunshine.

There’s also a risk of thundershowers in the Okanagan today, May 27.

Daytime high temperatures today are expected to be 21 Celsius in Kamloops but cooling to 19 C and 20 C on the weekend. The normal high for today is 23 C.

For the Okanagan, today’s high is expected to be around 20 C but it will be a couple of degrees cooler on the weekend, according to Environment Canada’s online forecast. The normal daytime high for Okanagan at this time of year is 21 C.

While it’s always riskier to forecast further out, Environment Canada shows a mix of sun and clouds for the Okanagan next week with highs reaching 27 C on Wednesday and Thursday.

Kamloops, which is usually slightly warmer than the Okanagan, is looking at a 60% chance of showers on Tuesday with highs of 26 C on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Weather Network is not so optimistic about late next week, forecasting highs for both regions of 23 C on Wednesday and 22 Thursday, with a 40% to 60% chance of rain.
