Cool, cloudy weather for the weekend in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS - The first full weekend of 2017 will be cloudy and cool in Kamloops.

It will be mostly cloudy today, Jan. 5, with a high of -11 Celsius, according to Environment Canada. There is a 40 per cent chance of flurries overnight with the temperature rising a degree to -10 C as more clouds move in.

Tomorrow will start off cloudy with a 40 per cent chance of flurries, but later in the day we can expect some sun to break through and the flurries to disappear as we reach a high of -9 C with a wind gusting up to 20 km/h. The night will drop back to -10 C with some cloudy periods.

Saturday will a little warmer with a high -7 C during the day and low of -8 C at night with clouds throughout. Sunday will be similar with a daytime high of -7 C and an overnight low of -8 C, but there’s a 60 per cent of flurries throughout the day.

The current forecast for early next week is more of the same with highs around -8 C, lows of -10 C, cloudy skies and a 60 per cent of flurries.

Average temperatures for Kamloops this time of year are highs of -1 C and lows of -8 C.
