Controversial Canadian academic Dr. Jordan Peterson is coming to Kelowna in May to give a lecture.
According to a media release, he has taught mythology to lawyers, doctors and business people, consulted for the UN Secretary General, and helped his clinical clients manage depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety and schizophrenia.
He's also served as an adviser to senior partners of major Canadian law firms, and lectures at Harvard and the University of Toronto.
The release says Dr. Peterson has published over one hundred scientific papers "transforming" the modern understanding of personality.
Dr. Peterson has sparked controversy, especially for his stance on refusing to use people's preferred pronouns. He's also been criticized for his views on women, masculinity and gender identity, The New Yorker reported.
He's recently published two best-selling books: 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos was published in 2018 and has sold millions of copies internationally and its sequel, Beyond Order: 12 More Rules for Life, was released on March 2, 2021.
His lecture will take place at Prospera Place in Kelowna, May 26. Tickets go on sale Feb. 17, with prices starting at $45. For more information and to buy tickets go here.
