Constituency offices shut down following Ottawa shooting

PENTICTON - It appears the constituency offices of Members of Parliament across the country are on shut down following events in Ottawa this morning, including those of local MP Dan Albas.

In Penticton and Westbank, the offices of Okanagan-Coquihalla MP Dan Albas, was closed and locked today after Members of Parliament were locked down in Ottawa during a morning caucus meeting when a gunman opened fire at Parliament Hill. It's unclear if this was in response to the shooting at Parliament Hill Wednesday morning.

In Kamloops, the MP's office was open this morning but as of 11:45 a.m. the office was closed.

A gunman reportedly shot a soldier at the National War Memorial at close range before also injuring a security guard at Parliament Hill before being shot dead.
