ENDERBY - Condolences are pouring in for the family of a young boy who died on a rural property in Enderby earlier this week.

A two-year-old was hit by a vehicle on the property around 2 p.m. on March 20. He was rushed to hospital but died of his injuries, according to the Vernon-North Okanagan RCMP.

A Go Fund Me Account titled ‘Casey’s funeral fund’ was created March 21 and appears to be from the same incident, though it doesn't specify. In less than 24 hours, dozens of donations and messages of support were left on the page.

“Due to an extremely tragic accident, Casey’s mommy and daddy could use some extra help,” reads a description on the account.

As of Wednesday morning, March 22, more than $5,500 of the $10,000 fundraising goal had been met. Donations will be used to support the family, including covering cremation and funeral costs.

Information is also being shared on Facebook for a memorial account at Enderby & District Financial, however the credit union would not confirm the account with iNFOnews.ca.

Police and the B.C. Coroners Service have not officially released the boy’s name or any further information about what happened.
