Kamloops RCMP are hoping to re-connect with the family of a man whose body was discovered in the Thompson River more than 30 years ago.
Raymond Haines was 34 years old when his family reported him missing in September 1990.
His family’s last contact with him was a couple of weeks prior when they discussed a relative’s upcoming visit, according to a Kamloops RCMP media release issued today, Nov. 10.
“Sadly, the majority of Raymond’s remains were located several months later on the south shore of the Thompson River; a definitive cause of death was never determined,” Kamloops RCMP media relations officer Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in the release.
“Over the years, contact has been lost with Raymond’s remaining relatives,” she said. “Police are looking to re-establish a connection in order to maintain communication on any updates or progress related to the investigation.”
If anyone recognizes Raymond as their relative, or has information related to his death and the ongoing investigation, they're asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 1990-25634.
