Clouds, snow, rain and sunshine in this week's Okanagan forecast

There's some snow and a lot of cloud in this week's Okanagan weather forecast

A variety of weather is expected in the Okanagan this week with cloudy skies the most dominant theme.

A continuing pattern of mostly cloudy skies along with temperatures sitting around the freezing mark is expected for much of this week in the Okanagan.

For today, Dec. 16, cloudy conditions should prevail with snow expected in Kelowna and Vernon this morning and ending this afternoon.

Up to two centimetres could fall in Kelowna with the high reaching -1 Celsius and a low tonight dipping to -4 C under cloudy skies.

Vernon could also see up to two cm along with a high of -1 C, while in Enderby and Lumby as much as five cm could fall.

There is a 60 per cent chance of flurries expected in Penticton today with a high of 0 C.

Tonight’s low in Vernon should reach -3 C and in Penticton the mercury will drop to -1 C. Tonight’s windchill could dip to -9 C in Penticton and -8 C in Kelowna.

More clouds are expected Tuesday in the Okanagan with a 40 per cent chance of flurries in the morning and winds up to 15 km/h. Tuesday’s high should reach -1 C along with windchills in the -9 C range.

It should reach a high of 1 C in Penticton on Tuesday.

Cloudy skies and a low of -3 C are expected Tuesday night in the Okanagan.

The cloudy skies should persist into Wednesday with the daytime high climbing to the freezing mark.

Snow is forecast overnight Wednesday with a low to -2 C.

Thursday should see a mix of sun and cloud with a high of 1 C .

More snow is forecast for Thursday night with a low of -2 C.

A mix of sun and cloud is expected Friday along with a 40 per cent chance of showers with Friday’s high expected to reach 3 C.

Friday night should see a 60 per cent chance of flurries and a low of 0 C.

Cloudy skies are in store for the weekend with a 40 per cent chance of showers or flurries on Saturday and a high of 2 C.

There’s a 30 per cent chance of flurries on Sunday, with a high of 2 C expected.

Normal temperatures for this time of year in the Okanagan are highs of -2 C and lows of -7 C.
