Clouds, rain expected in Kamloops this long weekend

The weekend forecast is unsettled with a pleasant day expected Saturday before rain moves in on Sunday evening.

This weather this Victoria Day long weekend should provide some opportunities for outdoor activities, but showers are also part of the unsettled forecast for the next few days.

If you’re planting a garden this weekend, Saturday might be the best day for that, in time for rain expected Sunday night.

A low pressure system off the British Columbia coast is expected on Sunday, bringing rain to the city Sunday night and Monday, but Saturday should be mostly pleasant and warm with a high of 25 Celsius.

Environment Canada says Kamloops should see a mix of sun and cloud today, May 14, with a 40 per cent chance of afternoon showers along with the risk of a thunderstorm. Today’s high should reach 23 Celsius with a low down to 10 C tonight.

A mix of sun and cloud is also forecast for Friday along with a 30 per cent chance of showers tomorrow afternoon. It should be warm, with a high of 24 C and a low of 9 C overnight, along with a continuing 30 per cent chance of showers.

A mix of sun and cloud is expected Saturday with a high of 25 C and a low of 13 C.

On Sunday, clouds are anticipated with a high of 20 C, followed by showers and a low of 12 C overnight.

Victoria Day Monday looks like it will be wet, with periods of rain and a high of 20 C.

The city should see a return of the sun along with some clouds on Tuesday with a high of 25 C, but clouds and showers make a return on Wednesday, along with a high of 22 C.

Normal temperatures at this time of year in Kamloops are highs of 21 C and lows of 8 C.
