Clouds and the odd shower this week in the Okanagan

KELOWNA - The forecast is calling for clouds and rain showers in the Okanagan this week.

Today, Feb. 17, will be the coldest day of the week, with a high of 1 Celsius in the vally, according to Environment Canada. Expect a mix of sun and cloud with the temperature falling to about -8 C in the North and Central Okanagan. The overnight low will be -5 C in the South Okanagan.

The forecasters are predicting a cloudy day tomorrow in the North and Central Okanagan, with a high of about 2 C. In the South Okanagan, it will be mainly sunny with a high of 3 C. Overnight in the Okanagan, the mercury will drop to -1 C with a 60 per cent chance of flurries.

Wednesday will be the first of the warmer days, with a high of 7 C currently forecast during a cloudy day. In the evening those clouds may bring showers, as temperatures stay positive around 1 C.

Thursday may be a little damp, with a 60 per cent of showers or flurries in the forecast and a high of 7 C. The precipitation should disappear overnight, with a low of 0 C, but Friday will be similar to Thursday with a chance of showers and a high of 6 C. A low of -1 C is forecast that night with clouds and potentially more rain or flurries.

The weekend should be similar to the previous few days, with a 40 per cent chance of showers on Saturday and clouds all weekend. Highs should be around 8 C and lows around -3 C.

The temperatures are pretty close to seasonal normals; highs of roughly 6 C and lows of about -2 C for the Okanagan.
