Clouds and showers in Kamloops's Remembrance Day long weekend forecast

Kamloops should see increasing cloudiness today, Nov. 7, 2019.

Rain is in the forecast for Saturday and Sunday in Kamloops, but there is no mention of precipitation for Remembrance Day on Monday. That could change thanks to the current weather pattern.

Environment Canada meteorologist Doug Lundquist says Kamloops is between much colder air to the north and warmer air to the south, making computer models difficult to resolve.

“It’s a really tricky pattern for the forecast to lock in on. It’s a situation where you’ll see the forecast evolving from day to day,” Lundquist says.

At least the Kamloops forecast doesn't include the threat of freezing rain currently forecast for the central part of the province, nor does it include possible snow accumulation such as in southern Ontario, where up to 20 cm of snow is expected between now and Saturday.

The forecast calls for increasing cloudiness today, Nov. 7, in Kamloops with a high of 6 Celsius. There is a 30 per cent chance of showers this evening with an overnight low of 3 C.

Tomorrow is expected to be mainly cloudy in the morning with a mix of sun and cloud in the afternoon, and an east wind at 20 km/h. The daytime high temperature should reach 10 C tomorrow with an overnight low of 4 C.

Rain is in the forecast for Saturday with a high of 9 C. The rain is expected to continue Saturday night with a low of 6 C.

Sunday should see cloudy conditions with a 70 per cent chance of showers, a high of 7 C and a low of 0 C.

Remembrance Day on Monday is expected to be cloudy with a high of 6 C. Cloudy periods are expected overnight with a low of 0 C.

A mix of sun and cloud is expected Tuesday with a high of 4 C and a low of 1 C.

A sun and cloud mix is also forecast for Wednesday with a high of 6 C.

Normal temperatures for this time of year in Kamloops are highs of 6 C and lows of -1 C.
