Clouds and showers in Kamloops this week

Sunrise over the South Thompson River and Kamloops this morning, April 10.

KAMLOOPS - Hopefully you got some sun this weekend, because it’s going to be sparse this week in Kamloops.

Environment Canada is forecasting clouds and showers for much of the week, starting today, April 10. Despite the sunny morning, we should expect clouds to roll in throughout the day, leading to a 60 per cent chance of showers this afternoon. Expect a high of 11 Celsius today with a low of 2 C overnight.

Tomorrow will be slightly warmer, hitting 13 C as the cloud and showers clear up through the morning and afternoon. Tuesday night will be clear, with a low of 4 C.

Wednesday the clouds return, with an overcast day peaking at 13 C. Overnight it’ll actually stay relatively warm, only dropping to 8 C, but there’s a 60 per cent chance of showers.

Thursday will bring warm spring showers, as we reach 15 C and the 60 per cent of showers remains. Overnight the showers will disappate and temperatures will drop to 5 C.

Heading into the weekend we can expect some nicer weather to show up. Friday expect a high of 15 C again, but this time with a mix of sun and cloud. Saturday and Sunday should be more of the same, with days around 16 C, a mix of sun and clouds during the day and cloudy nights dropping to 5 C.

Historically, the average for this week has highs around 16 C and lows at 3 C, so this week fits into the average, though recent years have been warmer.
