Beginning Monday, April 27 at 7 a.m. until April 28 at 6 p.m. the northbound lanes on Clifton Road between Clement and Lambert Avenues will be closed for final paving. The detour route will be marked via Clement Avenue to Glenmore Road.

On April 29 at 7 a.m. until April 30 at 6 p.m. the southbound lanes will be closed. The detour route will be marked via High Road or Mountain Avenue to Glenmore Road and Clement Avenue.

The $3.6-million improvements to Clifton Road included widening to four lanes, new sidewalk on both sides, street lighting, sanitary sewer, water main and shallow utilities and a new storm main. New retaining walls have been constructed where required and a signalized pedestrian crossing added at Hartwick Avenue.

Cycling upgrades include the city’s first “cycle track” or separated cycling facility, and enhanced crossing improvements at the Clement and Clifton intersection such as “elephant feet” crossings, bike push buttons and an accessible path in the curb islands.
