A Clearwater woman has been charged with second degree murder following the discovery a body on a rural road.
RCMP were called Sept. 6 to a remote area of the Adams Forest Service Road where they found a man's body. One woman, RCMP said, was subsequently arrested and transported to the Clearwater RCMP detachment.
"The Southeast District Major Crime Unit took over the investigation and a charge of second degree murder has since been laid against Ashleigh Tschritter of Clearwater in relation to the death of David Simpson, also of Clearwater," RCMP said in a press release.
She will appear in Kamloops provincial court on Sept. 8.
Police said this is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public. As this case is now before the court, no further details will be released.
Anyone with additional information regarding this incident can call the Southeast District Major Crime Unit general inquiries line at 1-877-987-8477.
