Clearwater RCMP are asking for the public's help to find a missing 63-year-old Alberta man.

Personal items belonging to Wayne Theriault of Alberta were turned into the Clearwater RCMP detachment on March 28, which prompted a missing person investigation, according to an RCMP media release.

The items were found in the Helmcken Falls area of Wells Gray Provincial Park, although there was no sign on Theriault, police say. Investigators believe Theriault was last seen on March 24.

Theriault is described as a Caucasian male, 63 years old, with curly grey hair, who stands at 5'10" and weighs around 180 lbs.

Currently police believe there is no reason to suspect foul play in Theriault's disappearance, although they are concerned for his well-being.

The Clearwater Search and Rescue team have been asked to assist in the search.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Clearwater RCMP at 250-674-2237.
