KAMLOOPS - A man accused of murdering his common-law wife in 2014 will face trial next year.

Iain Drummond Scott was charged with one count of first degree murder after his former partner Angila Wilson was found dead in her Clearwater home April 21.

Scott was arrested after a lengthy standoff with police who said he had his three children with him before he was taken into custody.

Crown prosecutor Adrienne Murphy fixed the date for Scott’s five-week jury trial in Kamloops Supreme Court today, Jan. 19.

The trial is slated to begin January 16, 2017.
