City Park Concept Plan workshop sign-up

The City of Kelowna will host a community workshop to help refine the City Park Concept Plan on June 25 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Coast Capri Hotel.

Kelowna residents are invited to take part in shaping the Downtown’s signature waterfront park by registering through the following methods:
-  online at kelowna.ca/mycitypark
-  email pmccormick@kelowna.ca
-  phone 250-469-8605

With the decision to remove a proposed Visitor Centre from the original City Park Concept Plan, further community input is being sought to reconsider how space in the park can be organized to attract and benefit park users and guide future investments in the Park.

“The workshop will build on the community input that has been received to date and is intended to refine the earlier version of the plan that included the Visitor Centre. It will be a hands-on exercise with attendees participating in small groups to discuss the future for the Park,” said project manager, Patrick McCormick. “Facilitators will assist each group. The aim is to generate a preferred plan and bring it forward to Council for consideration sometime in the fall.”

Space is limited; registration closes at noon on Wednesday, June 18. Residents will be randomly selected and notified by June 20.
