Cirque du Soleil is bringing its insect-themed show, OVO, to Kamloops and Kelowna for a total of 13 performances in June.

“OVO is a colorful intrusion into a new day in the life of insects; a non-stop riot of energy and movement,” states a news release. “Through show-stopping acrobatics highlighting the unique personalities and abilities of selected insect species, OVO explores the beauty of biodiversity in all its contrasts and vibrancy.”

There will be seven performances in Kelowna’s Prospera Place from June 9-12 followed by six in the Sandman Centre in Kamloops from June 22-26.

Tickets go on sale today, March 28, for Club Cirque members and on April 4 for the general public at cirquedusoleil.com/ovo.

“From mighty crickets bouncing off trampolines to a hypnotic spider contorting inside her web, OVO exudes extraordinary showmanship to tickle the imagination,” the news release says.

It brings 100 people from 25 different countries and first opened in Montreal in 2009. It has now been seen by more than seven million people worldwide.
