Immerse yourself in the holiday spirit and take in a classic holiday movie with the one you love. Better yet, do that and don't spend a dime.

For the ninth year, Cineplex Community Day on Saturday, Dec. 7, will treat guests to a selection of popular Christmas movies and all proceeds from donations and select concession sales will go toward supporting the Boys and Girls Club of Canada.

Popcorn, drinks and select candy will be available to purchase at $2.50, a reduced price. Doors to the movie will open at 9 a.m. and the movie will start at 9:30 a.m.

“We have a long history at Cineplex of giving back to our local communities and have proudly contributed millions of dollars to non-profit organizations across the country,” said Ellis Jacob, president and CEO of Cineplex.

“This year, we are excited to host our ninth annual Community Day fundraiser in support of Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada and their work in creating opportunities for children and youth across the country to connect, learn, play, and have fun.”

Films that may be playing at your friendly neighbourhood Cineplex are:

  •  A Christmas Story
  •  Elf
  •  Gremlins
  •  National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
  •  The Polar Express

Participating Cineplex theatres across Canada will open the doors for Community Day at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, with tickets available on a first-come, first-served basis. Showtimes begin at 9:30 a.m. and locations will return to regular programming in the afternoon.
