The weather this week in the Okanagan should be mostly sunny, but with the clear skies come cooler temperatures.
The forecast calls for a mainly cloudy day today, Nov. 18, in Vernon and Kelowna with a 30 per cent chance of showers late this afternoon and a high of 5 Celsius. Periods of rain are expected to begin this evening with the snow level dropping to 800 metres after midnight. Between five to 10 millimetres of rain is forecast, along with a low of 3 C.
Environment Canada says it will be mainly cloudy in Penticton today with a high of 8. Up to 10 mm of rain is expected overnight with the snow level falling to 800 metres before morning with a low of 5 C.
The periods of rain are expected to end tomorrow morning in the Okanagan making way for a mix of sun and cloud, and a north wind at 20 km/h gusting to 40 in the afternoon with a high of around 6 C. Clear skies overnight will mean a low of -4 C.
Wednesday should be sunny with a high of 2 C, with clear skies overnight and a low of -3 C.
The sunshine is expected to continue Thursday with a high of 0 C and a low of -4 C.
Friday should be much the same, with sunshine, a high of 0 C and a low of -2 C.
Normal temperatures for this time of year in the Okanagan are highs of 2 C and lows of -3 C.
