Chilliwack to open Peachfest in 2016

Canadian classic rock group Chilliwack will be the opening night headline act at this year's Peachfest in Penticton.

PENTICTON - Canadian classic rock lovers are going to want to mark Wednesday, Aug. 3 on the calendar.

That’s the night Chilliwack makes their first ever appearance at Penticton’s Peachfest at the main stage in Okanagan Lake Park.

Chilliwack is one of Canada’s iconic rock bands from the 70s and 80s, producing 23 Canadian hit records, seven of those making the Billboard Top 100 in the United States. The band also produced four platinum and two gold albums.

While the band has gone through several personnel changes over the years, lead guitarist and singer-songwriter Bill Henderson has remained a part of the band.

Among Chilliwack’s biggest hits are My Girl, I Believe, Baby Blue, Lonesome Mary, Crazy Talk, Whatcha Gonna Do, Fly at Night and California Girl.

The Vancouver based group known as The Phonix will be return to Peachfest to open the free show.
