Chiefs gear up for Nelson

KELOWNA – A major upcoming game for Rutland’s very own Kelowna Chiefs.

The Chiefs welcome the Nelson Leafs this Saturday to Rutland Arena.

These two teams haven’t faced off against one another since the 2011/2012 KIJHL season.

That year, Kelowna defeated Nelson in both match-ups, on September 23, 2011 by a score of 4 – 3 and then again on November 5, 2011 by a score of 6 – 3.

The Leafs have 22 points so far this season with 10 wins, 1 tie and 1 overtime loss.

The Chiefs trail by one point with 21 on the season and 10 wins, three losses and one overtime loss.

Puck drop is at 7PM at Rutland Arena.

The Chiefs will then hit the road to Princeton on Sunday for an afternoon game.
