ARMSTRONG - A North Okanagan woman is facing criminal charges for allegedly lighting a series of fires in Armstrong.
Colette M. Leneveu, 60, is charged with four counts of arson in relation to an inhabited property, according to court documents. All of the offences are dated March 12.
Leneveu was charged on March 13, and is due to appear for a bail hearing this morning in Vernon Provincial Court.
Police said yesterday a 60-year-old Armstrong woman was arrested following a rash of arsons on Okanagan Street.
Since March 8, there have been six suspicious fires in Armstrong. One home was badly damaged and another homeowner woke up just in time to extinguish a fire on his attached garage.
Police have not yet publicly identified the woman or discussed a motive.
None of the allegations have been proven in court.
