KAMLOOPS - A man accused of exposing himself in a school yard in October remains in custody but not for that offence.

Christopher Jonathon Mathieu, born 1988, remains in custody after pleading guilty to possessing child pornography along with other unrelated charges on Nov. 26.

On Oct. 23, Kamloops RCMP issued a media release stating a man pulled his pants down outside Marion Schilling Elementary School on a professional development day. Mathieu was taken into custody and charged with committing an indecent act and disturbing a school function.

According to Kamloops court registry and the Crown office, those charges were stayed after Mathieu pleaded guilty.

Two of the charges were gun-related offences stemming from a separate incident which occured Oct. 21 while the child pornography charge is from Oct. 23.

Mathieu is scheduled to return to court on Jan. 18 for a pre-sentence report. He will be sentenced at a later date.
