Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation’s Light a Bulb Campaign has reached $150,500 towards its $250,000 goal.

“This year’s campaign is running behind compared to the last two years, but we are optimistic our community will come together in supporting equipment for VJH operating rooms,” said Campaign Chair Kevin Arbuckle.

Light a Bulb is raising funds for high definition camera heads and control units for four operating rooms at Vernon Jubilee Hospital.  The new equipment will provide the surgical team at VJH with the tools to perform minimally invasive surgical and diagnostic procedures.

“Light a Bulb is a holiday tradition for many families, often through donations made in memory of a loved one or to acknowledge the care received at VJH,” said Arbuckle.  “For community members who are considering giving to the campaign, we want them to know their gift positively affects the lives of their families, friends and neighbours.”

Some of the generous donors contributing to Light a Bulb include the Elks Lodge #45, Smith Plumbing and Heating Ltd., Falkland Senior Citizens Branch 95, and Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies’ Auxiliary #3557.

To help the Foundation light the hospital tree, you can make a secure donation online, call 250.558.1362 or mail your cheque, Attention: VJH Foundation, 2101-32nd Street, Vernon BC V1T 5L2.
