Chances of white Christmas in Okanagan, Kamloops keeps dropping

Chances of a White Christmas in Kamloops and the Okanagan are slim to none, especially in Kamloops.

High temperatures are forecast to rise from 4 Celsius today, Dec. 18 to 8 C by Thursday before dropping to 1 C on Christmas Eve in Kamloops.

There is a 60% chance of rain mixed with snow overnight tonight and a 60% chance of showers Friday but, with a high forecast at 5 C on Friday, that’s most likely to be rain.

Overnight lows for most of the week are expected to be above freezing, according to the Environment Canada online forecast, which only goes through to Sunday morning — Christmas Eve.

AccuWeather forecasts a high of 2 C in Kamloops on Christmas Day with a 40% chance of precipitation while the Weather Network shows a high of -2 C with a 20% chance of precipitation.

The Okanagan should be a little cooler than Kamloops with high temperatures in the 3 C to 4 C range, dropping to 1 C on Sunday. Penticton will be even warmer with a high of 6 C tomorrow before dropping down to 1 C on Sunday;.

There’s a 30-60% chance of flurries overnight tonight and a 60% chance rain showers tomorrow afternoon. There is a 40% chance of snow or rain Thursday into Friday. With highs forecast to be 3 C and overnight lows of 0 C there could be some snow but it may not last.

Accuweather forecasts a high of 4 C in Kelowna on Christmas Day with a 12% chance of precipitation while the Weather Network shows a high of -1 C with a 22% chance of precipitation.
