PENTICTON - Challenge Penticton will happen in July instead of August next year.

The triathlon will take place on July 23, 2017 as race organizers move the date to accommodate the Penticton ITU Multisport World Championships taking place Aug. 18 to Aug. 27, 2017.

The Challenge Half will take place on a portion of the 2017 long distance worlds course, which will also be used by team half relay participants.

Next year’s Challenge Penticton events include the Half (1.9 kilometre swim, 90 km bike and 21.1 km run), the half relay and the Aqua bike (1.9 km swim, 90 km bike).

Challenge spokesperson Cathy Walker says the 2017 Challenge will be limited to half distance events with limited entry as well.
