KAMLOOPS - The City of Kamloops will host its annual Community Association Forum to thank the volunteers who help make their neighborhoods shine.
Kamloops is home to 15 community associations. These volunteer groups are committed to vibrant neighborhoods, where people work together to focus on common interests and celebrate with one another.
Over the years, Kamloops community associations have organized, hosted, or supported:
- Halloween block parties
- Park celebrations
- Fireworks displays
- Neighborhood garage sales
- Park and neighborhood clean-ups
- Amazing Race style events
- Fundraising for neighborhood amenities
- Neighborhood watch groups
- Jane’s Walks
- Voter turn-out events
- Outdoor ice rink maintenance
- Community gardens
As well, the close connection that community associations develop with their residents provide one more way for people to communicate with the City of Kamloops and each other.
The Community Association Forum brings all community associations together for an evening of presentations and a chance to meet one another to exchange ideas and build networks. The 2014 Community Association Forum will be held at the Parkside Lounge from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
The City of Kamloops would like to thank all community association members for their continued commitment to making the neighborhoods they love a wonderful place to live.
