The Shuswap Trail Alliance is throwing an event to celebrate everyone who makes trails in the Shuswap enjoyable for all.
The alliance is hosting a family-friendly event featuring a performance from Shred Kelly on BC Trails Day in June, according to a press release.
“The trails within the Shuswap are a success, in large part, due to our municipal and regional partners, the trail volunteers, stewards, and users,” executive director of the Shuswap Trail Alliance Jen Bellhouse said in the release.
“The collaboration between governments, organizations, and multiple user groups is something to commemorate and the Shuswap Trail Alliance would like the opportunity to celebrate the trails with the people who make them possible.”
Shred Kelly is an alternative rock band from the Canadian Rockies who have toured around the world.

Yukon Smash Burger, Arma and ShuPops are going to be at the event with food and treats as well as a beverage garden with drinks from the Barley Station and Shuswap Cider Co.
For kids there is going to be a sand pit with toys, and everyone is advised to bring a chair.
Tickets for the event at the South Canoe trailhead between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m on June 1 are available online for $25 for anyone over 19, and the event is free for those 18 and under but pre-registration is still required.
