Police investigate fatal stabbing of Jamaican legislator

KINGSTON, Jamaica - Authorities in Jamaica are investigating the killing of a member of Parliament whose body was found at his home in the northeast district of Portland.

Police said Monday that they don't know the motive for the fatal stabbing of 59-year-old Dr. Lynvale Bloomfield. His body was found on Saturday, and no arrests have been made.

Bloomfield was a member of the People's National Party and first won his seat in 2011. He was re-elected in 2016.
