VANCOUVER - The Catholic church in Vancouver is appealing to the religion's straying flock to come back into the fold.
The Catholics Come Home campaign, developed by a non-profit organization in Atlanta, used television ads to reach out to lapsed parishioners.
This is the first time they've partnered with a diocese outside the United States.
Vancouver Archbishop J. Michael Miller says the goal is to help those who've stopped going to mass to rediscover the joy of faith.
From Dec. 14 to Jan. 20, nearly 1,700 commercials will air in English, Mandarin and Cantonese across Metro Vancouver and Victoria.
Organizers say past campaigns south of the border have seen attendance grow to 18 per cent from 10. (CKNW)
