UPDATE: Car T-bones bus in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS - This afternoon a car has crashed into a bus at a major Kamloops intersection.

At about 2 p.m. today, Sept. 9, a car going south on 4th Avenue hit a bus going west on Columbia street.

B.C. Transit communications manager Jonathon Dyck states the incident report showed the bus was going on a green light, while the car passed through the intersection on a red. 

Captain Ken Hartt with Kamloops Fire Rescue responded to the incident. He said there were two occupants in the car and while one was checked out by health services. B.C. Emergency Health Services says the person was transported to hospital by ambulance.

No injuries were reported from the eight passengers aboard the bus.

The bus sustained some damage, as well as the front end of the vehicle. 

Two lanes of traffic were blocked off for about half an hour.

Kamloops Fire Rescue responded with one rescue truck and one engine.
