KAMLOOPS - RCMP say a collision on the Trans Canada in Kamloops this morning involved a police cruiser.

Police say at around 8 a.m., Aug. 15, the mountie was driving a marked police vehicle turned the lights and sirens on to pursure a car.

A Kamloops RCMP release originally said the officer attempted to make a legal U-turn on a green light at Grand Boulevard and Highway 1 East, but a second vehicle ran a red light and crashed into the cruiser.

Police now say the officer attempted the U-turn at a red light.

RCMP say there were no serious injuries.

The highway is still open in both directions but delays should be expected as the vehicles and debris are cleared up, police say.
