Comedian Jeff Foxworthy says it's a 'redneck dream come true' to have name on NASCAR race

HAMPTON, Ga. - Jeff Foxworthy has often used turned to NASCAR for comic fodder.

Now, he's thrilled to be doing business with the good ol' boys.

Jeff Foxworthy's Grit Chips 200, a 130-lap truck series race, was held Friday night at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The comedian and television star calls himself a longtime NASCAR fan and says he's "not sure why it took so long to do a deal. I think we probably have the same audience."

Foxworthy says some of his earliest one-liners in his trademark redneck jokes focused on the stock car series, including "If you've ever put a race car on a prayer list, you might be a redneck."

As for his sponsorship deal, he says, "This is a redneck dream come true."
