KELOWNA – Friends, family and those touched by the tragic murder of a Kelowna mother and her two daughters will hold a candlelight vigil at Stuart Park next week.

Kelowna RCMP have released few details about the triple homicide, saying only that it happened in Rutland sometime before Dec. 19 and that a man was taken into custody.

Jacob Forman, 34, has since been charged with three counts of second degree murder, according to court documents the victims were his wife Clara Soledad Forman and their two daughters Karina Anne Forman and Yesenia Kate Forman.

On Thursday, Dec. 28 the public is invited to show their support beside the Stuart Park Christmas tree from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., according an event posting on Facebook.

“Clara Forman and her two daughters lives were taken away in their own home,” the post says. “Clara was a Mexican woman who had been living in Canada for 10 years."

“The Latin American Community in Kelowna invites all residents to come together against violence towards women. Please bring a candle along. We are in this together.”

The post concludes with #NiUnaMenos, the hashtag for an Argentine feminist movement that campaigns against gender-based violence.
