Kamloops fans for Robert Bateman are in for a treat tonight.
The famous Canadian wildlife artist Robert Bateman will be at the Sandman Signature Kamloops Hotel tonight, Nov. 7, to talk about his art, sign autographs and auction off some paintings with the proceeds going to the B.C. Wildlife Park.
Bateman has been recognized for his wildlife and landscape work for decades and uses his paintings to highlight conservation and environmentalism. He has raised millions for conservation efforts through the sale of his paintings, according to the Bateman Centre website.
Bateman has been the focus of many books and movies, is an Officer of the Order of Canada and holds 14 honorary doctorates. At 88 years of age, he continues to travel to discuss his paintings and advocate for the environment. For more information check out his website here.
The fundraiser at the Sandman Signature Kamloops Hotel, 225 Lorne St., goes from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Cordillera Room.
