CALGARY - Canadian Jim Berry has a share of the lead in the saddle bronc after the first day of competition at the Calgary Stampede.
Berry, of Rocky Mountain House, Alta., and Cody Wright of Milford, Utah, both scored 85.00 on their first performances on Friday.
Heith DeMoss, from Heflin, La., and Chet Johnson of Douglas, Wyo., are in second and third respectively.
Jake Vold of Ponoka, Alta., leads the bareback after scoring an 89.00 on his first performance. Clint Laye, of Cadogan, Alta., was second with a 85.50 and Dusty LaValley, of Bezanson, Alta., is in third with an 81.50.
Mike Lee leads the competition after the first bull riding performance. The Fort Worth, Texas native scored an 87.00. Aaron Roy, of Yellow Grass, Sask., was second and Tyler Thomson of Black Diamond, Alta., third.
Hunter Herrin and Ryan Jarrett share the lead in the tie down roping with 7.0 scores.
Tanner Milan of Cochrane, Alta., managed the lowest score of 3.6 in the steer wrestling while Fallon Taylor leads the ladies barrel racing with a 17.65 score in her first performance.
