PENTICTON - Bugaboo University will soon be a buzz with activity, as the newest early learning centre in Penticton opens in September.

But before the doors can open, Recreation Penticton is looking for help to name the University mascot – a cute, cuddly and smart bug who loves to read, paint and bake – that needs a name before being introduced to students this fall!

The winner will be awarded a Recreation Penticton Family Prize Pack. The deadline for entries is July 1, 2015, and submissions can be sent to rec@penticton.ca.

Bugaboo University is your community early learning centre for children three to five years old to learn and explore through play and meaningful interactions. Led by an early childhood educator, programs cover a range of activities, including science and math exploration, open-ended art experiences and early literacy to kickstart a love for life-long learning and kindergarten readiness.

Bugaboo University is holding an open house on Thursday, June 18 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with faculty on hand to answer questions and provide parents and children a full tour.

The “campus” is located in the heart of the City of Penticton, in the Penticton Community Centre. A brand new, bright, modern 1,100- square-foot Learning Lab has been designed as the epicentre of campus life. Registration is now open for the fall term with spaces available.

As Penticton’s newest early childhood learning centre for three to five-year-olds, Bugaboo University offers an emergent style curriculum to ensure class room success for kindergarten.
