The brother of a Kamloops woman who was reported missing on Christmas Eve describes his sister as “a kind and sweet person who honours fairness and compassion.”

Alyssa Sleypen, 36, was last seen leaving her supportive housing at Mission Flats Manor in Kamloops, Dec. 3, according to RCMP.

Her older brother Curtis Sleypen said he's concerned for her wellbeing.

“This is unusual for her,” Curtis said. “She's been living at the manor for four years and is well like there. This is out of character.”

Alyssa has connections in the Lower Mainland and could be there. Curtis said she doesn’t always carry a phone.

“We have some people we know in the Vancouver area trying to get feelers out to see what is going on to see if we can get some answers,” Curtis said.

He's hoping the public will keep their eyes open for his sister and come forward with any information that might help locate her.

“Alyssa is part of a large family that lives here in Kamloops and we are worried about her safety,” he said. “She's well liked as she's a kind and genuine person best known for the way she helps people. Let’s come together and do the same for Alyssa.”

RCMP describe Alyssa Sleypen as a Caucasian female, 5’6” to 5’8” tall, 120 to 130 lb. with blonde hair.

If you've seen Sleypen, or have any information about her whereabouts, contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 or your local police.
