PINCHER CREEK, Alta. - An RCMP officer says he was driving down a forest access road in rural Alberta when he spotted something unusual among the trees — a drum set.

So the Mountie got out of his patrol car and started jamming with the band camping at Dutch Creek last Saturday.

Const. Doug Sokoloski (SOHK'-ohl-AWS'-key) jokes that it might not be common to see drums in the woods, but it wasn't strange for him to start playing.

The veteran Mountie says he is a musician who used to rock bars in Saskatchewan in the 80s with a band called "Shy Boy."

Sokoloski says the jam session in the woods was just another day at work and a positive way to interact with people.

One of the campers caught Sokoloski's on video and posted it on YouTube where it has had more than 256,000 hits.
