KELOWNA – A breakdance competition is coming to Kelowna this weekend.

The very first Fresh Coast Championship will feature breakdance battles, performances and a competition as well as live graffiti, a barbecue and instructional workshop taught by some of the best dancers in the country.

The Championship takes place in Rutland Centennial hall starting Sept. 9 at 6 p.m. Local dancers will show there talent along with live graffiti presentation and DJ performance. There will also be vendor booths, art work and an open dance floor.

The main event takes place Sept. 10 with breakdance battles and competition starting at 1 p.m. Winners will be announced at 7 p.m.

“We're here to bring positivity to our community through break dance and hip-hop,” they say on their Facebook page.

Kelowna, we are so blown away by your amazing support for Fresh Coast that we want to do something special in return! So we've decided to waive the door fee for the first day of our 3 day event. So join us FREE of charge for an explosive showcase of dance talent on Friday, Sept 9th! Instead, we invite you to bring a donation of clothing or non-perishable food items that will go to the Gospel Mission.

Visit the event website for admission cost and performance schedule.
