Break-ins, tool thefts highlight police investigations last week in Penticton

Penticton RCMP report several break and enters in the city last week. Tools continue to be a popular item for thieves.

PENTICTON - Penticton thieves with a penchant for tools made off with several more this week, leaving local RCMP to investigate several more break and enters.

A vehicle parked at Sky View Blinds was broken into overnight on Dec. 1, Penticton RCMP spokesperson Don Wrigglesworth says. A window was smashed to gain entry and numerous tools, including a laser level, Makita drills, and a stud finder, were taken.

Overnight Thursday, Dec. 3, thieves forced a door open at Okanagan Ready Mix on Okanagan Avenue and stole tools. The same night an attempted break and enter took place to storage lockers at a Kinney Avenue residence.

At 5 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, a break in at OK Mini Storage on Government Street was reported. Twelve storage units were broken into and efforts are underway to contact those renting the units.

On Monday, Dec. 7, a 2004 GMC Canyon was reported stolen from a Robinson Avenue residence in Naramata. The keys to the vehicle were reportedly left in the cup holder.
