Two women have been taken to the hospital after their vehicles collided in Kelowna today.

Officers remain on the scene of a motor vehicle collision that happened today, May 26, in the 3500-block of Glenmore Road North, according to an RCMP media release.

A grey Nissan Versa, travelling southbound, passed a water truck, lost control, crossed into the northbound lane and collided with a white Subaru Crosstrek.

The drivers of both vehicles, both adult women, were transported to the hospital.

The extent of their injuries are unknown but the damage to the vehicles is extensive, RCMP said.

Glenmore Road North is closed except for local traffic and police are asking motorists to avoid the area.

The Kelowna RCMP Traffic Unit has also responded to the crash, and the Southeast Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service is also investigating.

Anyone who was driving on Glenmore Road North and may have witnessed the grey Nissan Versa prior to the collision, or if anyone has dash-camera video, is asked to call the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.
