VERNON – Residents of Silver Star Mountain are still being advised to boil their water following a advisory issued last week.

Customers of the Silver Star Water Utility at the Village on Silver Star Mountain are being advised to continue to boil their tap water until further notice, according to a media release from the North Okanagan Regional District this morning, Monday, June 8.

The notice was issued on June 4 after the water utility found a high bacteria count in the distribution system.

Water being used to drink, making beverages or ice, washing fruits and vegetables and brushing teeth must be boiled for one minute.

“Staff continue to monitor water quality and investigating and implementing measures to correct any issues discovered,” the release says.

No word on when the water will be clean enough to lift the boil water notice.

For more information on the boil water notice you can call the regional district office at 250-550-3700 or check the district’s website.
