The body of a missing Calgary man has been recovered from Okanagan Lake.

A search originally started after he jumped from a boat into Okanagan Lake near West Kelowna on Friday, June 17, and didn't resurface.

The West Kelowna RCMP and the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team found the body after a three-day search, 64 metres below the surface approximately 500 m from where he went missing.

Sonar and a remotely operated vehicle or ROV were used in the recovery, Kelowna RCMP spokesperson Const. Mike Della-Paolera said in a media release, issued today, June 27.

This is the second recent fatality involving water in the Kelowna area in recent weeks.

The body of missing Kelowna resident Chelsea Cardno was recovered last week after the RCMP believed she was swept away in Mission Creek.
