Searchers found the body of a 29-year-old Kelowna man in Okanagan Lake yesterday, Aug. 17.

Police got a call at about 6:20 p.m. Sunday about a man who had not surfaced while swimming at Tugboat Beach near downtown Kelowna.

The body was found late yesterday afternoon after an extensive search by the West Kelowna RCMP, the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team and the Central Okanagan Search and Rescue team

“The B.C. Coroners Service is also investigating to determine how, where, when and by what means he came to his death,” states an RCMP news release. “Due to the privacy of the deceased, neither organization will be releasing or confirming identity.”

Foul play is not suspected.
