A body that was found in the North Thompson River this week has been identified.

On April 9, the Kamloops RCMP responded to a report of a body in the North Thompson River near the Dunes Golf Course, according to the RCMP in a news release.

The Kamloops RCMP, coroner, and Kamloops Fire Rescue found the body in the water north of the golf course.  The body has since been identified as Brandon Thomas Malkinson, 37.

"At this point in the investigation there is nothing to indicate that foul play is suspected," said Sgt. Sascha Fesenko, in the release. "The police are attempting to determine Malkinson‘s whereabouts prior to being located in the river and whom he may have been with."

Anyone who had contact with Malkinson after March 25 is being asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
