A man whose body was found in a car on a Vernon street two weeks ago has been identified as 26-year-old father Sasha Paul Skrinnikoff.

Skrinnikoff worked as a bartender at the 1516 Pub and Grill in Vernon and died two weeks shy of his 27th birthday.

According to a published obituary, Skrinnikoff leaves behind a son, his parents, two siblings as well as his extended family.

"Sasha was a man of many layers who fought for truth and always wanted to help others," the obituary reads. "He had a passion for basketball, music, and loved his son more than anything in this world."

Vernon RCMP have yet to give any details regarding Skrinnikoff's death and told iNFOnews.ca March 27 that the incident is still under investigation.

Skrinnikoff's body was discovered in a vehicle parked in the driveway of the 4600 block of 20 Street, March 13, in the city's Harwood neighbourhood.
